PowerShell Toolbox

By Adam Bell | August 17, 2007

As the list of PowerShell tools is constantly growing, I thought I’d take the time out to list the ones I’m aware of.

GPExpert™ Scripting Toolkit for PowerShell
PoshConsole
PowerShell Community Extensions
PowerGadgets
Quest’s PowerGUI
PowerLocker PowerPad
PowerShell Analyzer
ActiveRoles Management Shell for AD (aka Quest AD Cmdlets)
Zimbra PowerShell Cmdlets
SAPIEN PrimalScript 2007

What else is out there that I should add to the list? What tools do you have in your toolbox, and which ones are essential Vs nice-to-have?

It is not yet in public beta, but I think that you should make a bit space allready to include PowerShell Plus in your “PowerShell editors assesment” list for an overview see the trailer :

Oisin’s Eventing Library is very high on my essential tool list

also the /N netcmdlets I think they deserve a place on this list also , I have them installed but had not much chance to test them, but for network admins and admins in a mixed environment this might be an essential toolkit also.

And last but not least , sorry for the shameless plug, it is a script not provider or Cmdlet but the most essential tool for me, the one tool that I really could not live without anymore is PowerTab

    Hi MoW,

Thanks for the additions. I think this list will keep growing, so this might warrant it’s own page ….

I did know about PowerShell Plus, and can’t wait to take a look when it hits Public Beta. I totally agree with PowerTab, I basically only use PowerTab and Notepad2 as my PS daily toolkit!

The others I’ll add to my list of things-to-do ;)

    Cheers

    Adam

Just for the sake of completeness, I just wanted to let everyone know that PowerShellPlus is now in public beta and freely available here: http://www.powershell.com/downloads/psp1.zip. We decided to keep this product for free for non-commercial use even when it is final, so anyone interested in PowerShell can count on using this tool for free.
