OK, so this has nothing to do with technology.
Some friends have their first single released today, and I just want to help them spread the word. The group is called “The Latch” .
The details and music video can be found here.
Purchase your copy online from the following…
or you can text ‘MIRACLE’ to 82822
I found that Amazon doesn’t appear to have the single online yet. HMV doesn’t support Firefox, so I was unable to browse the site from my Ubuntu laptop, and I had the same problem with iTunes as I don’t have the software installed.
After sending a text to 82822, you are sent a link to the TuneTribe website to download your MP3. This cost me £1.50 to get the single.
At the website I discovered the best way was to buy the CD (3 tracks) for £2.37. The single was £0.79 without the SMS transaction.
It’s a great song and I hope the guys do well.
If you want more of the Latch, they have a presence on MySpace here (be warned it has sound!), and their recent webcast at the Berlin Studios here.
[Update 30 Oct]
Now a search of Amazon.co.uk revels the CD here, but it’s not available currently.
I don’t think word has gone out yet, but I believe next months PowerShell User Group meeting will be held at the now usual venue of Clarks Legal in Reading on the 20th of November.
This may have changed since I last spoke to Richard, but I believe there are three presentations scheduled:
- Ben Pierce
- James O’Neill
- Adam Bell
Yes. I somehow managed to get myself involved with a couple of guys that apparently do know what they are talking about. I don’t know what the guys have planned, but my session will be on “Managing Group Policy with PowerShell”
We’ve also got a few sponsors for the next meeting, and a few goodies to give away, but more on that when I get the official nod on what’s been arranged ;)
Oh, and distance is no longer an excuse. Employing the wonders of technology, the next session will be broadcast live and unedited to your screens via Live Meeting. Eeek!
I’ll post more specifics when I get confirmation over the next couple of days!
[Update - 19 Oct]
While I’m waiting for the official news to filter through I would like to say a quick thank you to Darren Mar-Elia a.k.a. The GPO Guy from SDM Software for sponsoring the refreshments at our next meeting, and for sending the UG some schwag :)
If you’re planning on attending the meet you’ll get a glimpse of what their GPExpert™ Scripting Toolkit for PowerShell can do during my session.
Anyone who’s keeping tab’s on the PowerShell niche will no doubt already be aware. But just in case, I’ll tell you anyway ;)
There’s a new place available to help you get your PowerShell “fix”. The PowerShell Community site is a joint effort to promote PowerShell. The site looks great, and there’s even a forum to hang out in. See you over there ;)
